Keyboard shortcuts

A reference of common FramePilot keyboard shortcuts for playback, editing, timeline navigation, and the AI agent.

FramePilot uses conventional non-linear editor (NLE) shortcuts, so if you have used a pro editor before, most of these will already be in your fingers. The tables below group the common defaults. All shortcuts are configurable in settings, so remap anything that fights your muscle memory.

On macOS, use Cmd where the tables show Ctrl.

Playback

Transport controls follow the standard JKL convention editors expect.

Action Shortcut
Play / pause Space
Shuttle backward J
Pause K
Shuttle forward L
Step back 1 frame Left
Step forward 1 frame Right
Go to start Home
Go to end End

Tap J or L repeatedly to shuttle faster.

Select all clips Ctrl + A

Ctrl + A selects every clip on the timeline while the timeline has focus; in the AI panel or any text field it still selects text as usual.

Managing the project and history.

Action Shortcut
Save Ctrl + S
Undo Ctrl + Z
Redo Ctrl + Shift + Z
Import media Ctrl + I
Export Ctrl + E

Undo and redo apply to AI edits too: every applied patch is reversible through the same history.

AI

Reach the agent without leaving the keyboard.

Action Shortcut
Open AI agent panel Ctrl + L
Quick edit on selection Ctrl + K

Quick edit opens the Cmd+K-style prompt for the current selection; see the AI agent for how those edits become reviewable patches.
